Over the course of the sunny summer months, while the school work settled in school buildings, the construction picked up. Our crews were busy renovating some of the most highly used spaces - hallways, cafeterias and a gymnasium. Now, as students, teachers, and faculty make their way back to school this August, many recent changes await them. Below is a look at the exciting, colorful updates from the elementary schools.
Thornapple Elementary School
Recent upgrades to Thornapple Elementary include freshly installed carpet tile, wood slat ceiling feature with lighting, paint and architectural details throughout the classrooms, hallways and cafeteria. The gym received new flooring, lights, and paint throughout.
Orchard View Elementary School
Orchard View Elementary received similar upgrades to the hallways and classroom space with new paint, carpet tile, freshly painted lockers, and new casework. The improvements to the cafeteria were a focus throughout the summer and it now includes a ceiling feature with lighting, new flooring, and acoustical panels on the walls.
Collins Elementary School
The cafeteria at Collins Elementary received major upgrades as well, including new flooring, ceiling features and new lighting. The hallways and classroom spaces also boast new carpet tile, paint, lighting, architectural features including built in cubbies and slat ceiling feature.
We look forward to keeping you up to date with the remaining work at the elementary schools, as well as improvements to other Forest Hills facilities in blog updates to come. Stay tuned!
