As we look toward 2026, a wave of exciting projects is taking shape across the district. From modernized learning environments to major athletic improvements, each initiative is designed to support students through safe, flexible, and inspiring spaces. Here’s a look at what’s ahead in the coming year.
Progress on the New Aquatic Center
Construction on the district’s state-of-the-art aquatic center began in mid-November. The facility will feature both a competition pool and a recreation pool, creating a versatile venue capable of hosting everything from large meets to small instructional programs. Once complete, the center will serve student-athletes, P.E. programming, and community users through a modern, purpose-built aquatic space.

Northern Athletics Enhancements
2026 will bring significant progress to Forest Hills Northern’s athletic facilities through Phase 2 of the improvements plan. This phase includes relocating the existing softball field and upgrading both the new softball and baseball fields to turf as well as paving and parking improvements. These updates will enhance durability, improve field consistency, and increase year-round playability for student-athletes.
New Auxiliary Turf Field at Eastern High School
Forest Hills Eastern High School will expand its athletic capacity with a new auxiliary turf field. The addition supports greater parity across the district’s high schools and provides more reliable practice and competition space throughout the year.
Turf Upgrades for Central High Baseball & Softball
Central High School's baseball and softball teams will benefit from new turf playing surfaces. These enhancements are designed to improve consistency, reduce weather-related downtime, and create safer, more dependable fields for practices and games.
Renovations at Northern Hills Middle School
The renovations planned for Northern Hills Middle School will support modern learning, student connection, and community engagement. The updates focus on:
Strengthening connections to nature
Creating collaborative spaces
Supporting flexible, student-centered learning
Showcasing student work and achievement
These improvements aim to align the building’s environment with the school’s culture and instructional priorities.

Ada Elementary Renovations Begin This Summer
Starting this summer, Ada Elementary will begin renovations designed to support evolving educational needs. Updates will enhance classrooms, shared spaces, and circulation to create a more flexible, collaborative learning environment.

Meadowbrook Elementary Renovations Set for Summer Start
Meadowbrook Elementary will also begin renovations this summer, with improvements aimed at enhancing classroom environments, modernizing building functionality, and creating flexible learning spaces that better serve students and staff.

Ongoing Renovations at Forest Hills Central High School
Renovations will continue throughout Forest Hills Central High School, further updating learning spaces, improving flow and functionality, and creating environments that support both academic and community use. These ongoing improvements reflect a commitment to keeping the building responsive to evolving student needs and program growth.
Investing in Students, Schools, and Community
From athletic fields to learning environments, these projects represent meaningful investments in the experiences of Forest Hills students and the broader community. As construction continues, the district will share updates, milestones, and progress throughout 2026.
